Is this for you?

Who it's for

Bucharest locals and Romanian speakers curious about the 1940 and 1977 earthquakes walk 2.4 km through the centre, past Pasajul Victoria, Palatul Telefoanelor and Scala, solving medium-level puzzles. Couples and families with older children get about 90 minutes of free play on a loop. Skip it if you don't read Romanian, as the game is Romanian only, or if dark humour about the next quake isn't for you.

Frequently asked questions

Does the quest go through Victoria Passage in Bucharest?
Yes. Pasajul Victoria is the fifth stop, reached after Turnul Colței, Colonadelor, Tehnoimport and Carpați. From there the route continues to Palatul Telefoanelor, Electrolux and on through Scala, Wilson, Carlton and Dunărea before the final stop.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at Turnul Colței and is a loop, so you end up back where you began. Along the way you walk about 2.4 km through central Bucharest, passing 15 stops in order, from Colonadelor and Tehnoimport to Scala, Carlton and Dunărea.
How long does it take, and can we pause?
Most players take around 90 minutes, including walking and solving the puzzles. There is no set start time and no group to join, so you can begin whenever you like, pause along the way and continue later from where you stopped.
Is it in English?
No. The game is in Romanian only, so every story and puzzle is written in Romanian. It suits Romanian-speaking locals and visitors; if you don't read Romanian, you will not be able to follow the stories or solve the challenges.
Is it good for kids, and does it cost anything?
It is tagged family friendly and is free to play, so the whole family can join. Puzzles are medium difficulty and in Romanian, and the tone includes some dark humour about earthquakes, so it works best for older children who read Romanian well. Daylight is recommended.
