The adventure

About this quest

All roads lead to Rome. But roads work both ways. Augustus knew that better than anyone. While the world was busy marching toward Rome, he was quietly moving his most dangerous secrets out. He needed a place to hide the Imperial Regalia and he chose this city to keep them safe.
This wasn't some random choice; it was a calculated move. He left the location with one man, who encoded the map across landmarks using symbols carved into the city's oldest stones. Those marks are still there, hiding in plain sight while you grab your morning coffee or walk to work.
You receive the first clue from a source who refuses to identify themselves. The greatest personal treasury ever assembled is waiting for someone with the right eyes to find it. Are you ready to claim what Augustus left behind?

Is this for you?

Who it's for

Couples, friends and families with teens who prefer puzzles to a guided tour will enjoy tracking symbols carved into Florence's oldest stones that point to Augustus's hidden Imperial Regalia. The 2.9 km walk takes just under two hours and ends where it began. Pick something else if you want a live guide to question, or if young children would tire of a long code-breaking walk.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the Florence treasure hunt take?
Most players take just under two hours, including walking and solving the puzzles. The route covers about 2.9 km on foot. You can go at your own pace, so stopping for a coffee or a longer look at a landmark simply adds time.
Does the route end where it starts?
Yes. The quest is a loop, so you finish back where you began. That makes it easy to plan the rest of your day, since you will not end up on the far side of the centre after about 2.9 km of walking.
Can we play as a group?
Yes. One ticket covers the whole group playing together, so friends or a family can follow the clues on one phone and work through the puzzles as a team. There is no group to join and no guide, just your own party.
Is it suitable for children?
It suits teens and older children best. The story follows Augustus hiding the Imperial Regalia, and the puzzles ask you to spot symbols in the landmarks around you. Younger children may find nearly two hours of walking and code-breaking too long.
Do we need to book a time, and can we pause?
No booking of a time slot is needed. You start whenever you like, play on your phone, and can pause and continue later. The quest is played outdoors, so on a rainy day it helps to pause for shelter and pick it up again afterwards.
Is the lost gold story real?
No. The treasure hunt is fictional, while Florence and the places you explore are real.
Is this a guided treasure tour?
No. The app guides you from clue to clue without a guide, group or scheduled departure.
How many tickets does our group need?
This classic quest sells access per device and player. Each person who wants to solve clues on their own phone needs their own access.
