The experience

About this quest

Millions of tourists trample the Walk of Fame daily, blind to the cinematic ghosts beside them. But you are The Collector, a film-obsessed phantom hiding in plain sight.

You don’t steal money; you hunt the physical marrow of the Golden Age. To you, Hollywood is a massive, open-air prop room. From the mahogany desk of Catch Me If You Can to the dimly lit corners of Musso & Frank, your mission is to infiltrate L.A.’s most legendary locations.

Slip past the oblivious crowds, decode the Chinese Theatre's architecture, and extract the boulevard's darkest secrets. History is waiting. Can you build the ultimate collection before the director yells cut?

Is this for you?

Who it's for

Film buffs and classic Hollywood fans on the Boulevard play a film-obsessed collector, walking 1.2 km from the Roosevelt Hotel past the Chinese Theater and the Egyptian Theater to Musso & Frank Grill and Boardner's, solving puzzles set in the buildings in a little over an hour. If you would rather quiz a live guide about studio history, a scheduled movie palaces tour suits you better.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the Hollywood walk start and finish?
It starts at the Roosevelt Hotel and finishes at Boardner's, so it does not return to the start. In between you pass the Chinese Theater, Ovation Hollywood, The Hollywood Museum, Highland Ave, the Hollywood Wax Museum, the Egyptian Theater, Miceli's Italian Restaurant and Musso & Frank Grill, about 1.2 km in all.
How long does it take?
Most players take about 70 minutes, a little over an hour, including the walking and the puzzles at each stop. You can pause at any point and continue later, so you can take longer if you want a break.
Do we need to book a time?
No. You start whenever you like on your phone, with no group to join and no guide to meet. The app leads you from place to place, tells the story of each stop and sets a puzzle in what is in front of you.
Can we play as a group, and does it cost anything?
It is free to play, so friends or a couple can walk it together at their own pace. There is no guide and no fixed group, and you can stop along the boulevard, perhaps at Musso & Frank Grill, then pick up where you left off.
