Frequently asked questions

Where does the campus accessibility walk start and finish?
It starts at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey and loops through Pierce St, the Middlebury MGWN Building, Century 21 Showcase, Trader Joes, Alta Cafe and Env Analysis before finishing at Wicked Problems.
How long does it take and how far is the walk?
Most players take a little over two hours, around 130 minutes including walking and puzzles. The route covers about 3.1 km, so wear comfortable shoes and plan for a relaxed afternoon rather than a quick stop.
Do we need to book a time, and can we pause?
There is no booking and no group to join, so you can start whenever you like and pause to continue later. Note that the last part of the game might not be available after 4PM, so start early enough to finish in time.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes, the quest is tagged family friendly and explores accessibility through a student's day on campus. Children should be comfortable walking about 3.1 km over roughly two hours, and those old enough to follow the story and puzzles will get the most from it.
Can we play as a group, and does it cost anything?
The quest is free to play, so friends, classmates or a family can walk it together on their phones. Everyone follows the same route and story, which makes it easy to discuss the accessibility challenges as you go.
