It starts at Chiesa di Santa Maria and finishes at Chiesa di Santo Spirito, so it does not return to the start. Along the roughly 2 km route you pass Porta Nuova, Fontana 5 Vie, the Sentierone, Teatro Donizetti and the Prefettura.
How long does it take, and can we pause?
Most players take around 90 minutes, walking and puzzles included. You can pause at any point and continue later, so a coffee break or a detour along the way does not mean starting over.
