The walk starts at Brisbane City Hall and follows a trail of restless spirits past Queen Street Mall, the City Botanic Gardens, the Queen Victoria Monument and Little Door. It covers about 2.3 km on foot, and you can start whenever it suits you.
Is it like an escape room around Queen Street?
In a way. Each spirit has unfinished business and a mystery to solve, using ciphers and riddles, some of which only the street around you can answer. Solve one and it gives up a clue, and the clues lead you to name the Evil One. Queen Street Mall is one of the stops.
How long does it take?
Plan on around 90 minutes for the 2.3 km route, a little longer if you linger at the stops. You can pause the game and continue later, so a break for food or a drink does not cost you your progress.
Is it suitable for kids?
It suits older kids and teens who enjoy a spooky story and can handle riddles and ciphers. Most of the ten spirits are lost souls, but one is lying to you and must be named and destroyed, so very young or easily scared children may find it too much.
Do we need to book a time, and can our group play together?
There is no fixed start time and no guide to meet, so you begin whenever you like. One ticket covers your whole group, playing together on phones up to the number of devices stated for the quest.
