Where does the Charleston scavenger hunt start and finish?
It starts at the Pineapple Fountain and runs as a loop, finishing back at Waterfront Park. Along the way it passes the Old Exchange & Dungeon, Rainbow Row, the Nathaniel Russell House, White Point Garden, the Battery and the Pink House.
How long does it take and how far will we walk?
Most players take about 2 hours, including walking and solving the puzzles. The route covers 3.9 km and 12 stops, and you can pause at any point and continue later, so a café break does not cost you your progress.
Does the game tell the history of each landmark?
No. This is a puzzle-focused scavenger hunt and it does not include stories about the places. The app leads you from stop to stop and sets clues in what you see, so it suits people who want an active game rather than a history talk.
Is it good for kids?
It works well for children who like solving clues and can comfortably walk nearly 4 km over about 2 hours. Very young children may tire before the end, though you can pause the game and pick it up again later.
