Kilka odpowiedzi przed wyjściem
Często zadawane pytania
Does the quest take in St Rumbold's Tower?
Yes. The route builds up to Sint-Romboutskathedraal, home of St Rumbold's Tower, as its final stop. On the way you pass the Grote Markt, the Vleeshalle and Hof van Busleyden, so the tower makes a fitting finish after about two and a half hours of walking and puzzles.
How is a self-guided quest different from a group walking tour?
There is no guide and no group to join. You play on your phone: the app leads you from stop to stop, tells the story of each place and sets a puzzle in what is in front of you. Start whenever you like, pause and continue later, and one ticket covers your whole group playing together.
Can I see Mechelen in one day with this quest?
Yes, it fits easily into a day trip. The 4.7 km route covers 14 stops across the centre, including the Vismarkt, Brouwerij Het Anker, Dossin Kazerne and the Grote Markt, and takes about two and a half hours. The start is 750 m from the main station, leaving time to explore afterwards.
Is there an app for exploring Mechelen on foot?
This quest is played in the Questo app on your phone, which guides you along the route, tells the story of each stop and gives you puzzles to solve on the spot. Make sure your phone is fully charged or bring a power bank, as the walk takes about two and a half hours.
Where does it start and finish, and can we play in the evening?
It starts at Het Arsenaal, about 300 m from the Zandpoortvest parking garage and 750 m from the main station, and finishes at Sint-Romboutskathedraal. The route is open around the clock, but daylight is better, as some stops may be unreachable late in the evening or at night. Check the weather before you set out.
