Dla kogo jest
Friends, teams and families with older children spending time at the Pearl can play rookie EPA investigators chasing an environmental mystery past the Hopper Silos, Pearl Chimney and the Grotto. Expect about 90 minutes, 2 km and medium-difficulty puzzles told through audio stories. Skip it if someone in your group struggles with uneven ground and slopes, or if you would rather listen to a guide than crack codes yourselves.

Kilka odpowiedzi przed wyjściem
Często zadawane pytania
Is this a self-guided scavenger hunt in San Antonio?
Yes. You play it on your phone with no guide and no fixed tour time. The app leads you through the Pearl District, along the Riverwalk and through the historic streets just north of downtown. It tells the story at each stop and sets puzzles in what is in front of you.
Is it a good activity with teenagers?
It suits teenagers and older children well. The puzzles are rated medium difficulty and involve decoding cryptic messages and following clues as an investigator. The terrain varies, with some changes in elevation, so younger children may find the puzzles and the walk harder going.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts and ends at the Train stop at the Pearl, so you finish where you began. In between you visit stops such as The Park at Pearl, Pearl Springs, the Hopper Silos, Pearl Chimney, the Grotto and the Big Mushroom.
How long does it take and can we pause?
Plan on around 90 minutes to walk about 2 km. You can start any time without booking a slot, and you can pause and continue later. Make sure your phone is fully charged or bring a power bank, since the game and audio stories run on it.
Can our group play together?
Yes. One ticket covers your whole group, so friends, families or teams can work through the clues together. You follow the story as a team and solve each puzzle on the spot before moving to the next location.
We’re new to San Antonio—how can we dive into Pearl’s history without a typical tour?
Download Historic San Antonio: Pearl Mystery and follow interactive clues through old brewery buildings, cobblestone paths, and the River Walk. You’ll uncover stories of brewers, merchants, and hidden art while solving a modern whodunit.
We want a date idea with character—any suggestions?
Yes! Start near the historic brewery plaza at dusk, share headphones for the quest music, and solve puzzles together. End with a drink at a Pearl wine bar or dessert from the bakery for a memorable evening.
Could kids handle this, or is it more for grown-ups?
Kids love the detective angle. The riddles are fun, not frightening, and the Pearl has wide car-free areas, splash pads, and cafés for easy snack breaks. Great for a family outing.
