Expect about 2.5 hours and 2.6 km of stories and riddles past churches, the Arco de Santa Catalina and an artisan market. Anyone hoping for a live guide to quiz on colonial history, or who cannot comfortably walk that distance, should choose something else.

Is this quest based on the legend of La Tatuana?
Yes. The walk is built around the Guatemalan legend of La Tatuana, told as a mystery that unfolds from stop to stop alongside historical events and present-day customs of Antigua. At each place you hear its story and solve a riddle using what you can see around you.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at San Francisco el Grande & Iglesia del Hermano Pedro and finishes at the Monumento a Landívar, so it is a one-way route rather than a loop. On the way you pass Tanque La Unión, the Real Palacio de los Capitanes Generales, El Arco de Santa Catalina and Iglesia de la Merced, among other stops.
How long does it take?
Most players take about 2.5 hours, walking and puzzles included, to cover the 2.6 km route. There is no fixed pace, and you can pause the game at any point, stop to browse the artisan market or rest, and continue later.
Is it free, and can we play as a group?
It is free to play, and no attraction tickets are needed for any of the stops. Families, friends and solo travellers can all take part, and a group can follow the stories and work through the riddles together as you walk.
Do we need to book a time?
No booking is needed. You start whenever you like, and the route is open around the clock, though it is better played in daylight, when the buildings and details the puzzles ask you to look at are easiest to see.
