Yes, it is played on your phone through the app. The app guides you from place to place around Nottingham, tells the story of each spot and sets a puzzle based on what is in front of you. There is no guide to meet and no group to join.
Where is the Robin Hood statue in Nottingham, and does the route pass it?
Yes, the Robin Hood Statue is one of the stops. It comes late in the walk, right after Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem and just before the Castle Gatehouse, so you reach it as the route heads towards the castle and the finish at The Park Gates.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at Weekday Cross and finishes at The Park Gates, so it does not end where it began. Along the way you pass the National Justice Museum, St. Mary's Church, the Bell Inn, Old Market Square, Mortimer's Hole and the Castle Gatehouse, among other stops.
How long does it take and how far is the walk?
Most players take around two and a quarter hours, including walking and solving the puzzles. The route covers 2.9 km through central Nottingham. You can pause at any point, for example at one of the old pubs on the way, and continue later.
Can we play as a group, and do we need to book a time?
Yes, one ticket covers the whole group playing together, so friends or a family can follow the route on one game. There is no set start time to book: you can begin whenever you like and pause and pick it up again later.
