Yes. This phone-based walk leads you through the old Quarantine Station with tales of isolation, disease and despair, a chance to hear from one of its lingering ghosts, and puzzles set in the buildings around you. It is free to play, and no attractions tickets are needed.
Where does the Quarantine Station ghost tour start and finish?
It is a 1.6 km loop that starts at The Stables. It passes the Cook House, Hospitals, Station Jetty, Parade Ground, First Class Dining Hall, the Original Cemetery and the Isolation Hospital and Morgue, with the Influenza Huts as the final stop.
Is this a good thing to do in Portsea?
If you enjoy history with a dark edge, yes. It takes you around the remarkably preserved Quarantine Station buildings at Point Nepean, from the Disinfecting and Bathing Complex to the Isolation fence, telling the story of each place as you walk. You can answer questions to move quickly or listen to the audio at leisure.
How long does it take, and do we need to book a time?
