Întrebări frecvente
What is Noviomagus called today?
Noviomagus is the Roman name for Nijmegen, the oldest city in the Netherlands. It sat on the northern frontier of the Roman Empire, and this walk tells its story through emperors, soldiers and the events that changed the town forever.
Where does the walk start and finish?
It starts at Spolia and runs as a loop of about 3.9 km through ten stops, including The Waal, the Revolt of the Batavians and the Lead Lady, before finishing at Roman city rights, back near where you began.
How long does it take?
Most players take just over two hours, walking and puzzles included. You set the pace and can pause and continue later, so there is no need to book a time. The route has varied terrain and elevation.
Can a class or a group play together?
Yes. One ticket covers the whole group playing together on a phone. The walk is tagged family friendly, and its story of a young Roman soldier and puzzles set in what you see suit school-age children who can manage a walk of just over two hours.
When is the best time to play?
The route is outdoors and open around the clock, but daylight is recommended and playing at night is not. Do not attempt it when the river is high. Bring a hat, sunscreen and water, and charge your phone or carry a power bank.
