CONFIDENTIAL / CASE BRIEFING

The story starts here.

"When I die I will be reborn in paradise, and all those I have killed will become my slaves."

Decades ago, the Zodiac Killer carved those words into history then vanished into the fog. The case went cold. The city moved on. Until last night.

A high-security police vault has been breached. The thief ignored the cash and the narcotics but he took only one thing: the original Zodiac evidence files. Now a copycat calling himself The Disciple has scattered the 1969 artifacts across the city and marked innocent citizens for "collection," determined to finish what his Master started.

You're on the task force. Twelve locations, each tied to a Zodiac sign. No set order, only your instincts. And beware: some of them are traps designed to waste your precious time.

🔎 Crack the Zodiac's infamous ciphers, recover the stolen artifacts, and save the victims before the clock runs out. The ink is fresh, the knife is sharp, and the city is screaming for answers.

Is this for you?

Who it's for

This San Diego edition sends you across about 2 km of city streets in around 90 minutes, tracking a copycat called the Disciple who has scattered the 1969 Zodiac evidence through town. True-crime fans, friends and couples on a date night get a dark, cipher-heavy case they can start whenever they like. Anyone after a booked indoor escape room, or uneasy with a real killer's words, should look elsewhere.

Frequently asked questions

Is this like a Zodiac Killer escape room?
It shares the Zodiac theme but works differently. There is no locked room and no booked slot. You walk about 2 km outdoors in San Diego, tracking a copycat called The Disciple who has scattered the 1969 artifacts across the city, and you solve puzzles on your phone at real places.
Is there a murder mystery game we can play in San Diego?
Yes. This murder mystery is a self-guided walk played on your phone, so friends or couples can go together without a guide or a fixed start time. One ticket covers your whole group, and the story builds on the real, unsolved Zodiac case.
How long does it take?
Plan on around 90 minutes to cover about 2 km on foot, all outdoors. You can pause at any point and continue later, so it is easy to fit around a coffee stop, a meal or a change in the weather.
Do we need to book a time slot?
No. There is no group schedule and no guide to meet, so you can start whenever suits you, whether that is this afternoon or a free morning at the weekend. Open the quest on your phone when you are ready to begin.
