Where does the coffeehouse walk start and finish?
It starts at the Diodato site, one of Vienna's earliest documented coffeehouse sites. It then loops through Café Prückel, Kleines Café, Café Schwarzenberg, Café Museum, Café Hawelka, Cafe Diglas and more, finishing at Fenster Café, close to where you began.
How long does it take?
Most players take a little over two hours, around 130 minutes including walking and puzzles, covering about 5 km. You can pause and continue later, so it is easy to split the route or linger at one of the cafés along the way.
Is it free, and can we play as a group?
Yes, it is free to play. Couples, friends or a larger group can walk it together on a phone, with the app leading you from café to café, telling the story of each place and setting a puzzle in what is in front of you.
Do we need to book a time?
No. There is no set start time, no group to join and no guide to meet. Start whenever you like at the Diodato site, go at your own pace, and pause and pick it up again later if you need to.
Is it a good idea in the rain?
The quest is a walk through the city, so the stretches between the 13 stops are outdoors. Because you can pause at any point and continue later, a rainy day is manageable: wait out a shower and carry on when it clears.
