Who is Gebeleizis, and how does he feature in this walk?
Gebeleizis is the Dacian god of storms. The story places you in ancient Dacia as a young survivor of a sacred lightning ritual, marked by him and able to glimpse fate in flashes of lightning. You use that gift to uncover ancient truths and protect your tribe from a future foretold in fire.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at Buzău's Obelisk and finishes at a roundabout, so it does not return to the start. In between you pass Parc Crang, Muzeul Judeţean din Buzău, the I.C. Brătianu museum centre, Buzău City Hall, the Archbishopric of Buzău and Vrancea and Biserica Înălțarea Sfintei Cruci.
How long does it take and how far is the walk?
Most players take a little over two hours, puzzles and walking included, to cover about 3.9 km. You do not have to do it in one go: you can pause the game and continue later from where you stopped.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes, it is tagged family friendly and works well for school-age children who enjoy a story. The puzzles are medium difficulty and are solved using what you see at each stop, so younger kids may need help from an adult, and the distance of almost 4 km is worth keeping in mind.
Do we need to book a time, and can we play as a group?
No booking is needed. The quest is free to play, you start whenever you like on your phone, and there is no group to join or guide to meet. The route is open around the clock, but daylight hours are better for spotting the details the puzzles rely on.
