Forget every ghost story you've heard about this city. This Halloween, ten restless spirits are loose on its streets. 👻 No history book knows their names. No tour guide has heard of them. Most are just lost souls. One is lying to you. 💀
A hooded Oracle needs a ghost hunter. Every spirit is stuck on unfinished business: solve its mystery, catch it, and it gives up a clue. Follow the trail across town, crack ciphers and riddles (some only the street itself can answer), then name the Evil One and destroy it before it finds you. 🕷️

From the Carmel Clay History Museum, a 1.9 km trail of around 90 minutes passes Midtown Plaza, the Museum of Miniature Houses and The Cat, with ciphers and riddles. Friends, couples, older kids and puzzle fans who prefer playing to listening will enjoy chasing ten spirits for clues. Young children may find the hunt for an Evil One too spooky; anyone wanting a live guide should choose a guided walk.

Where does the Carmel ghost hunt start?
It starts at the Carmel Clay History Museum. From there the app leads you through Midtown Plaza and past street sculptures such as The Right Light and There, Now You Can Grow, plus the Museum of Miniature Houses and Other Collections and The Cat.
How long does it take and how far do we walk?
Plan on around 90 minutes to walk about 1.9 km while solving each spirit's mystery. You can pause at any point and continue later, so there is no need to finish in one go.
Is it suitable for kids?
It suits families with older kids who enjoy a spooky story and a challenge. You crack ciphers and riddles, some answered only by looking at the street, and must work out which spirit is lying to name the Evil One. Younger children may find the puzzles and theme too much.
Do we need to book a time, and can our group play together?
There is no fixed start time and no guide to meet, so you can begin whenever suits you. One ticket covers your whole group, so friends or family can follow the trail and solve the puzzles together.
Is the ghost hunt outdoors, and what if it rains?
It is a walk through the streets, and many clues come from the sculptures and buildings along the route, so you spend most of the time outside. Dress for the weather, and if rain sets in you can pause and pick up the hunt later.
