Angie Smith Chapel and Dulaney-Browne Library, with Oz puzzles at each stop for around 90 minutes. Friends, couples, families and Oz fans who prefer their escape room outdoors will enjoy it. Is the Oz escape an event with a fixed date and time?
No. It is a self-guided game played on your phone, so there is no scheduled event to attend. You start whenever suits you, with no group to join and no guide to meet, and you can pause partway and carry on later.
Is this something we can do in OKC today?
Yes. You do not need to book a time slot, so you can decide on the day and head to the start. Allow around 90 minutes for the 2 km walk and its puzzles, or break it up by pausing and continuing later.
How is this different from an indoor escape room?
Instead of a locked room, you play outdoors on your phone, following clues to each new location and solving puzzles in what is in front of you. The story is inspired by Baum's original Oz novel, and you can team up with friends or play solo against a leaderboard.
Where does it start and what does the route cover?
The game starts at 1 Freede Center in Oklahoma City. From there it covers about 2 km, with stops including Wesley Church, the Oklahoma Children's Theatre, Dulaney-Browne Library, Bishop W. Angie Smith Chapel, the Oklahoma City University Arch and Kramer School of Nursing West.
