Is this a mafia walking tour of Palermo?
It is a self-guided walk played on your phone, with no guide and no fixed start time. You play Nico Impastato, a journalist whose father was silenced by the mafia, searching for a missing informant through real streets and solving clues at each stop.
Does the route cover Palermo's anti-mafia movement?
Yes. Stops include Punto Pizzo Free, the two Muro della legalità sites, the Tribunale di Palermo, Piazza della Memoria, the Padre Puglisi memorial and the No Mafia Memorial, with the story of each place told along the way.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at Punto Pizzo Free and finishes at Palazzo Pretorio, so it is not a loop. In between you pass the Mercato della Vucciria, Centro Sociale ExKarcere, Teatro Massimo, the Tribunale di Palermo, Chiosco Beati Paoli and Caffè del Kassaro, covering about 3.6 km.
How long does it take, and can we pause?
Most players take close to three hours, walking and puzzles included. You do not have to do it in one go: pause whenever you like, stop for a coffee or a meal, and continue later from where you left off.
Can we play as a group, and do we need to book a time?
One ticket covers the whole group playing together, so friends or a couple can share it on one route. There is no time slot to book and no group to join; start whenever suits you.
