Who was Karel van Gelre and what does this walk show of him?
Karel van Gelre, also known as Karel van Egmond, was one of the key figures in medieval Arnhem. The walk tells the story of his life and what he did for the city, and takes you to the places that matter in it, including Sint-Walburgiskerk and the Sabelpoort.
Where does the walk start and finish?
It starts at Stone cold and finishes at Peace at last, a different spot from the start. In between you pass The Northern Gate, Place of Commerce, Mayor Van Presickave, Sint-Walburgiskerk, the Sabelpoort and The Devil's House, among other stops.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes, it is tagged as family friendly. It works best for children old enough to follow a story and help solve puzzles based on what is in front of them, roughly primary school age and up, with an easy pace through the old town.
Can we play as a group, and do we need to book a time?
