It is app-based and self-guided. You play on your phone, and the app leads you from place to place, tells the story of each stop and sets a puzzle in what is in front of you. There is no guide and no group to join, so you can start any time.
Where does the self-guided route start and finish?
The route starts at the Rose Kennedy Rose Garden and finishes at the Italian Cities Sign on Hanover Street, so it does not end where it began. Along the 2.8 km you pass North Square, Battery Wharf, All Saints Way, the site of the Great Molasses Flood and St. Leonard's Church.
How long does the North End mafia walk take?
Most players take around 95 minutes, so plan on about 1.5 hours including walking and puzzles. You can pause and continue later if you want to stop for food or a break, and the quest is best played during the day.
Can we play as a group, and do we need to book a time?
Yes, one ticket covers the whole group playing together. There is no set start time to book, since the quest is self-guided and you begin whenever you are ready at the Rose Kennedy Rose Garden.
Is it good for kids?
