Is this a self-guided pub crawl in Dublin?
Yes. The app leads you through 11 historic pubs and bars in the city centre, from The Brazen Head to Toners. At each one it tells the story of the place and sets a puzzle in what is in front of you. There is no guide and no group to join.
Where does the route start and finish?
You start at The Brazen Head, Dublin's oldest pub, and finish at Toners. It is not a loop. Along the 3.1 km route you pass stops including Darkey Kelly's, The Temple Bar, The Palace Bar, The Shelbourne and O'Donoghues Bar.
How long does it take?
Most players take a little over three hours, including walking and puzzles. You can pause at any point and continue later, so it is easy to linger over a drink at a stop you like. It is tagged as best during the day.
Can we play as a group?
Yes. One ticket covers the whole group playing together, and the quest is tagged as a Squad Challenge, so friends can solve the puzzles as a team. It also works well for couples.
Do we need to book a time slot?
No. You can start whenever you like at The Brazen Head, play at your own pace and stop for a break whenever you want, then pick up where you left off later.
