Preguntas frecuentes
Is this a scavenger hunt in downtown Mesa?
Yes, it works like a scavenger hunt played on your phone. You take the role of a private investigator working out why everyone has turned into statues, spotting clues and solving riddles at the sculptures along Main Street while learning about Mesa's public art.
What will we see on the walk in downtown Mesa?
The route takes in Mesa's public art collection on Main Street, including The Wall Street Farmer and Citrus Grower by Art Norby, Dilophosaurus by Michael Trcic, Polar Bear & Cubs, Bearly Fishin', They Are Waiting by Nnamdi Okonkwo and Two Horses by William Barnhart.
Where does it start and how long does it take?
You start and finish at the sculpture Teaching Children Since 1878 by James Avati, so you end up back where you began. The walk covers about 2.1 km and takes around 90 minutes, depending on how quickly you crack the riddles.
Is it good for kids?
It is family friendly and suits school-age children best, since the puzzles are riddles that need some reading and reasoning. Kids tend to enjoy the dinosaur and bear sculptures along the way. Bring hats, sunscreen and enough water for everyone, as the route is outdoors.
Do we need to book a time, and can we pause?
No booking slot is needed: you start whenever you like, and you can pause and continue later. The route is open 24/7 but is better in daylight. One ticket covers your whole group on the devices stated, so charge your phone or bring a power bank.
