La experiencia

Sobre esta experiencia

A day in Nice takes a chilling turn when you spot seven ghostly figures drifting from the sea toward the Monument Centenaire. Their regal posture hides a silent plea for help, and you are the only one who can see them.

The ghosts are no ordinary strangers. Walking beside you through the streets of Nice's Old Town and along the Promenade des Anglais are Friedrich Nietzsche, Henri Matisse, Oscar Wilde, Thomas Jefferson, Anton Chekhov, James Joyce, and Frank Harris: seven brilliant, restless men with unfinished business in this city on the French Riviera.

Follow cryptic clues, solve real-world puzzles, and uncover hidden corners of the city around Place Masséna as you piece together a mystery lost to time. Someone summoned these men. Someone wanted them to feel what it means to lose control. This Nice walking tour is one of the most surprising things to do in Nice: part detective story, part history lesson, entirely unforgettable.

¿Es para ti?

Para quién es

Preguntas frecuentes

Is there a ghost walk in Nice I can do on my own?
Yes. This is a self-guided ghost story played on your phone. Seven ghostly figures, Nietzsche, Matisse, Oscar Wilde, Thomas Jefferson, Chekhov, James Joyce and Frank Harris, lead you through Old Nice and along the Promenade des Anglais. At each stop you hear the story of the place and solve a puzzle.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at the Centenary Monument and finishes at Place Masséna. In between you pass the Matisse and Chekhov plaques, the Opéra de Nice, the Monument aux Morts, Giuseppe Garibaldi Square, Cathédrale Sainte-Réparate, the Palais de Justice and the Fontaine du Soleil, among 12 stops in total.
How long does it take and how far is the walk?
Most players take about two and a half hours, including walking and solving the puzzles. The route covers about 3.6 km on foot. You can pause along the way and continue later, so you can stop for a coffee or a meal without losing your progress.
Can we play as a group?
Yes. One ticket covers the whole group playing together, so couples or a few friends can follow the story and work on the puzzles side by side on the same game. The theme is a spooky ghost story and it is pitched at couples and adults.
Do we need to book a time slot?
No. There is no group to join and no guide to meet, so you start whenever you like from the Centenary Monument. The app leads you from stop to stop at your own pace, and you can pause and pick it up again later.
I’d love a spooky evening in Nice—what should I try?

Step into the eerie side of the city with Ghosts of the Riviera: The Mystery of Nice’s Lost Souls. This self-guided mystery walk takes you through atmospheric streets and hidden corners while you solve clues and uncover ghostly legends.

Is this a fun date-night idea?

Absolutely. Walking through Old Town at dusk, following haunting stories together, and solving puzzles side by side creates a mix of romance and thrill. It’s a unique alternative to dinner and drinks.

Can families play, or is it too scary for kids?

It’s more mysterious than frightening. Older kids and teens who like legends and detective stories will have a blast. You can move at your own pace, take breaks, and keep it light-hearted for younger players.
