Families, friends and couples on an Ohrid holiday can see the Old Town churches, fortress and lakefront at their own pace, solving puzzles along the way. The 3.4 km route runs from the City Square past Saint Sophia, the ancient theatre and Samoil's Fortress to Saraishte Beach. Close to three hours on cobbled streets makes it a poor fit for toddlers or anyone who cannot walk that long.

Where does the Ohrid scavenger hunt start and finish?
It starts at Ohrid City Square and finishes at Saraishte Beach, so it does not end where it began. In between you pass Small Saint Clement, the Robev Family House, Saint Sophia, the Ancient Macedonian Theatre, Samoil's Fortress, several churches and the Ohrid Boardwalk, about 3.4 km in all.
How long does it take, and can we take breaks?
Most players take close to three hours, including walking and solving the puzzles. You can pause whenever you like, stop for a coffee or a swim, and continue later from where you left off, since there is no guide or group schedule to keep up with.
Is it free, and can we play as a group?
Yes, the quest is free to play, and you can explore it together as family or friends, sharing the puzzles and clues. No attraction tickets are required along the route, so you can follow the whole walk without paying entry anywhere.
Do we need to book a time, and when is it best to play?
No booking is needed. Start whenever suits you. The route is open around the clock, but daylight is recommended and playing at night is not. To avoid large crowds in the Old Town, try weekdays during working hours.
