Where does the Parramatta heritage walk start and finish?
It starts at Rumsey Rose Garden and finishes at St John's Anglican Cathedral, so it is not a loop. Along the way you pass the Astronomical Observatory Obelisk, Old Government House, the George Street Gatehouse, the Anderson Fountain and the Former Bank of NSW, among 12 stops.
How long does the walk take and how far is it?
Most players take just under two hours, including walking and solving the clues. The route covers about 3 km through Parramatta Park and the streets of central Parramatta. You can pause at any point and continue later if you want a break.
Is it suitable for children?
The story of Eliza Simpson getting to her wedding is kept easy and aimed at mixed groups, so it suits families with children who enjoy a story and solving clues together. Very young children may find close to two hours and 3 km of walking a lot.
Can we play as a group?
Yes. One ticket covers the whole group playing together on the route, so friends or a family can follow the clues side by side and help Eliza reach the church on time.
Do we need to book a time, and can we play after dark?
