Questions fréquemment posées
Is this a good romantic thing to do in Glasgow?
It is designed for couples. You walk together through tucked-away green spaces, stroll along the River Clyde and solve puzzles that move your own love story forward, ending with the unsolved mystery of Winchers' Stance. It works best in daylight, and one ticket covers the two of you playing together.
Where does the walk start and finish?
It starts at the Southern Necropolis and finishes at Winchers' Stance, so it is not a loop. In between you pass the Rose Garden Orchard, Blessed John Duns Scotus RC Church, McLennan Arch, Bowlarama, the Gallery of Modern Art, the Willow Tea Rooms, the Lighthouse and Buchanan Street.
How long does it take and how far is it?
Most couples take just over two hours, including walking and solving the puzzles, and the route covers about 4.2 km. You start whenever suits you with no time slot to book, and you can pause and pick up where you left off later.
Why does the Duke of Wellington statue have a cone on his head?
The quest tells the quirky story behind the traffic cone on the Duke of Wellington's head as part of the route through the city centre, which also takes in the Gallery of Modern Art. You hear it on your phone at the spot, alongside a puzzle to solve.
Do we need to go inside places like the Gallery of Modern Art?
No. The places on the route are not entered as part of the experience. Everything happens outdoors, with the stories and puzzles based on what you can see from the street, so plan for the weather and go during the day.
