À propos de cette aventure
"In 'Historic Ironbridge', players are transported to the industrious town of Ironbridge in the pivotal year of 1932.
Having spent cherished years here during the Great War, sheltered by your grandparents from the chaos of battlefronts and factories, the landscape is both hauntingly familiar and jarringly different.
Now in your mid-twenties and driven by necessity, you tread the cobblestone streets once more, not as a carefree child but as a hopeful job-seeker.
As you embark on this quest, you'll navigate the town's landmarks, confronting both the challenges of a shifting post-war economy and the ghostly echoes of bygone days.
This outdoor escape game offers an immersive dive into Ironbridge's storied past, a fusion of history, nostalgia, and the timeless search for belonging."
Est-ce pour vous ?
Pour qui c'est
History lovers, couples and families with older children visiting the Ironbridge Gorge can follow a young job-seeker back to 1932, past the Lincoln Hill Limekilns, Bedlam Furnaces and the Iron Bridge Tollhouse. Allow 2 to 2.5 hours for the 3.8 km loop, which is easy to pair with a museum visit. If nearly 4 km on foot is too much, or you want an evening outing, pick something else.

Questions fréquemment posées
Does the quest start at the Wharfage Car Park in Ironbridge?
Yes. The walk begins at the Wharfage Car Park and finishes back there too, so you end where you started. Along the way it passes The Wharfage itself, the Museum of the Gorge and the Lincoln Hill Limekilns before heading on through the town.
Does the route pass the Merrythought teddy bear shop?
Yes. The Merrythought Teddy Bear Shop is one of the stops, near the end of the route after New Road and before Ironbridge Antiques. From there it is a short final stretch back to the Wharfage Car Park where the walk began.
How long does the walk take and how far is it?
Plan on roughly 2 to 2.5 hours to cover about 3.8 km, taking in 15 stops including the Bedlam Furnaces, the Old Coracle Shed, St Luke's Church and the Iron Bridge Tollhouse. You can pause at any point and carry on later if you want a break.
Is it suitable for children?
It suits families with older children best. The story follows a young adult in 1932 returning to Ironbridge to look for work, and the full route is nearly 4 km, so younger children may find the length and the storyline harder to stay with.
Do we need to book a time, and can we play in the evening?
There is no time slot to book. You start whenever you like, with no guide or group, and can pause and continue later. It is recommended that you play in daylight rather than at night, so plan to set off with enough light for the whole walk.
