What is this Gastown game about?
You play a treasure hunter searching for the legendary Oppenheimer Stash, a forgotten hoard from the Gold Rush era. Guided by an old letter, you follow clues and solve puzzles set in the streets around you, while a mysterious picture frame shows glimpses of the past. Your choices along the way can change how the story ends.
Does the route pass the Gastown Steam Clock?
Yes. The Gastown Steam Clock is the fourth stop, reached after the Marine Building, Sinclair Centre and Waterfront Station. From there the route continues to the Dominion Building, the Sun Tower and the Sam Kee Building before heading into the heart of old Gastown.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at the Marine Building and finishes at the final stop, called Back to the Saloon, after the Old Church (The Alibi Room). It is not a loop, so you end up in a different spot from where you began. Temporary construction work may affect parts of the route.
How long does it take and how far is the walk?
Most players take about two and a quarter hours, including walking and solving the puzzles, over roughly 3.5 km on foot. You can start whenever you like, with no time slot to book, and pause the game to continue later if you want a coffee break along the way.
Can we play as a group?
Yes. One ticket covers the whole group playing together, so friends, couples or families can follow the clues side by side on the same game. There is no guide and no other group to join, so you set your own pace through Gastown.
