Domande frequenti
What is there to see in Chambéry on this walk?
The route passes well-known sights including Cathédrale Saint François de Sales, La Fontaine des Eléphants, Musée des beaux-arts, Parc du Verney and the Statue des frères de Maistre. It also takes in smaller corners such as Chapelle Vaugelas and a wooden footbridge. The app tells the story of each place as you reach it.
Is this a self-guided tour?
Yes. You play on your phone with no guide and no group to join. The app leads you from stop to stop, tells the story of each place and sets a puzzle based on what is in front of you. Start whenever you like, and pause to continue later.
Where does it start and finish, and how long does it take?
It starts at The clock and finishes at Porte de Celse Morin, on a loop route of about 3.3 km with 13 stops. Most players take about two hours, including both the walking and the puzzles, so allow a little extra if you want to linger.
Is it suitable for children?
It suits families with older children and teens who enjoy riddles and following clues. The walk covers about 3.3 km over roughly two hours, so younger children may tire, and the puzzles ask players to read the streets and places around them closely.
Can we play as a group, and do we need to book a time?
Yes, one ticket covers the whole group playing together. There is no time slot to book, so start when it suits you, though daylight is recommended rather than playing at night. If it gets cold, you can pause and warm up indoors at almost any location.
