In spirit, yes, but it happens outdoors on the streets. A hooded Oracle sends you after ten restless spirits, each stuck on unfinished business. Solve each mystery to catch the spirit and earn a clue, crack ciphers and riddles along the way, then name the Evil One and destroy it.
Is it suitable for a 10-year-old?
It suits older kids who enjoy puzzles, and around 10 is a sensible age if an adult plays along to help with the ciphers and riddles. The tone is Halloween spooky rather than gory: most of the spirits are lost souls, and the challenge is working out which one is lying.
How long does the haunted scavenger hunt take and how far do we walk?
Plan on around 90 minutes to walk about 2.2 km while you follow the trail across town. Some riddles can only be answered by looking at the street around you, so expect to stop, search and think at each point rather than walk straight through.
Do we need to book a time slot, and can we stop partway?
