Domande frequenti

Is there an old town in Oslo, and does this quest cover it?
This quest treats Oslo's historic centre as its old town. It starts at Christiania Torv and walks past City Hall, the Royal Palace, the University of Oslo, Parliament and Oslo Cathedral, telling stories from the capital's 1,000-year history as you play the role of Harald Hardrada.
Where does the quest start and finish?
You start at Christiania Torv and finish at the Scandinavian Star Memorial. Along the way you pass the Nobel Peace Center, City Hall, the King Haakon Statue, the Royal Palace, Parliament, Oslo Cathedral and the Norway Resistance Museum. It is not a loop, so plan your onward trip from the memorial.
How long does it take and how far is the walk?
Most players take close to three hours, including walking and solving the puzzles at each stop. The route covers about 5 km through central Oslo. Because you can pause and continue later, you can split it with a lunch or café break.
Is it good for kids?
Yes, it is tagged as kid friendly and recommended for families. It suits school-age children best, who can help solve clues while following the Viking king story. The length of close to three hours and about 5 km may be a lot for very young children.
Can we play as a group, and do we need to book a time?
One ticket covers the whole group playing together on a phone. There is no guide and no group to join, so you start whenever you like, with no time slot to book. It is best played during the day, and you can pause and continue later.
What’s the storyline behind Viking Tales?

You step into the role of King Harald Hardrada, Norway’s last great Viking ruler. Rumours of threats—invaders, plague, rumors from beyond—have shaken Oslo. Odin sends you back from Valhalla to reclaim your Viking legacy and face these challenges.

Which historic spots in Oslo will I actually visit?

You’ll walk about 5 km, stopping by Christiania Torv, the Royal Palace, City Hall (where the Nobel Peace Prize is handed out), and Akershus Fortress, among others. Landmarks + Vikings = great mix.

Is this kid-friendly? Can older kids enjoy Vikings + history?

Yes, kids from ~10+ usually do great. The story is exciting, not scary. There’s myth, puzzles, sweeping history. Also good for families who like interactive learning.
