Forget every ghost story you've heard about this city. This Halloween, ten restless spirits are loose on its streets. 👻 No history book knows their names. No tour guide has heard of them. Most are just lost souls. One is lying to you. 💀
A hooded Oracle needs a ghost hunter. Every spirit is stuck on unfinished business: solve its mystery, catch it, and it gives up a clue. Follow the trail across town, crack ciphers and riddles (some only the street itself can answer), then name the Evil One and destroy it before it finds you. 🕷️

Friends, couples and solo thrill-seekers can hunt ten Halloween spirits across downtown, cracking ciphers and street riddles over about 90 minutes and 2.2 km. Escape-room fans and families with older kids get a mystery to solve, not a script to listen to. Anyone who wants a guide telling stories they can question, or young children easily scared by a lying ghost and an Evil One, should pick something else.

Which places in downtown Palo Alto does the route visit?
The walk starts at Cogswell Plaza and leads you to the Downtown Library, King Plaza, the Telephone Co. Building and the Stanford Theatre, among its stops. The route covers about 2.2 km, so it doubles as an easy way to see the heart of downtown.
Do we need to book a time, and how long does it take?
No time slot is needed. You start at Cogswell Plaza whenever you like and play on your phone. Plan on around 90 minutes for the 2.2 km walk, and you can pause at any point and continue later.
