Is there an outdoor escape game in Trondheim?
Yes. This one is played on your phone across the city centre. You follow clues and solve puzzles in your surroundings at places such as Nidaros Cathedral, Old Town Bridge and Kristiansten Fortress. There is no guide and no group to join, so you start whenever suits you.
What is the shadow realm story about?
You follow a mysterious crow into the shadow realm and must escape in order to tell the tale. The story runs alongside the puzzles as you walk from Stiftsgården past the cathedral, a graveyard and the Gravediggers to the fortress.
Where does the game start and finish?
It starts at Stiftsgården and finishes at Kristiansten Fortress, so it does not end where it began. In between you pass the courtyard, the Olav Tryggvason Monument, the Wild Sculpture, Nidaros Cathedral, the Archbishop Palace, the graveyard, the Gravediggers and Old Town Bridge.
How long does it take, and can we pause?
Most players take about 90 minutes, walking and puzzles included, over a route of 1.9 km. You can pause in the app and continue later if you want a coffee break or need to stop along the way.
Can we play as a group, and is it fine at night?
Yes, one ticket covers the whole group playing together, which works well for friends, couples and families with older children. Playing at night is not recommended, so plan to go during daylight hours.
