It is an outdoor escape-room-style game played on your phone. A new story inspired by L. Frank Baum's 1900 Oz novel leads you between real Naperville locations, where you solve puzzles to outsmart the witch. Play with friends or solo against the leaderboard, with original Oz songs along the way.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It is a loop of about 2 km that starts and ends at the Madden Theatre. The route passes Munchies Plus, the Sullivan's Steakhouse murals, Egg Harbor Cafe, Lou Malnati's, IKKAI and Athleta, then crosses North Central College via Meiley-Swallow Hall, Pfeiffer Hall, the Sesquicentennial Walkway and the Campus Store.
How long does it take, and can we pause?
Most players take about 95 minutes including walking and puzzles, so plan for 1.5 to 2 hours. You can pause at any point and continue later, which makes it easy to stop for food at one of the restaurants along the route.
Can we play as a group?
Yes. One ticket covers the whole group playing together, so friends, couples or families can crack the puzzles as a team on the same game. If you prefer to go alone, you can tackle the challenges solo and compare your result on the leaderboard.
Do we need to book a time, and what if it rains?
