About this quest
🍀 The Case of the Lost Luck: An Outdoor Detective Mystery Game 🍀
Fortune has faltered with the mysterious disappearance of the Golden Shamrock. As luck spirals into chaos—clocks stop, signs fall, and the bakery's ovens cool—you are summoned to unravel this enigma.
Was it the reticent leprechaun, Rusty, with his mischievous past? Finn McGuire, the desperate pub owner last seen with the shamrock? Or perhaps the mayor himself, whose ambitions might be fueled by the town's misfortune?
Is this for you?
Who it's for
Starting at Nichols Library, this 2.1 km downtown Naperville route passes the Dandelion Fountain, Meiley-Swallow Hall and Quigley's Irish Pub while you work out who took the Golden Shamrock: a leprechaun, a pub owner or the mayor. Friends, couples and mixed-age families get around 90 minutes of street clues and detective work. Anyone hoping for an indoor escape room or a live guide to quiz should pick something else.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a scavenger hunt I can do in downtown Naperville?
Yes. This is an outdoor detective mystery played on your phone. The app guides you between stops such as the Landforms Sculpture, Meiley-Swallow Hall and Naperville Bank & Trust, telling the story of each place and setting a puzzle you solve using what is in front of you.
Where does the Golden Shamrock hunt start?
It starts at the Nichols Library, part of Naperville Public Library. From there the route covers about 2.1 km and twelve stops, including the Dandelion Fountain, Hugo's Frog Bar & Fish House, Quigley's Irish Pub and Cold Stone Creamery.
How long does it take, and can we take a break?
Plan on around 90 minutes, depending on your pace and how quickly you crack the clues. You can pause at any point, stop for a drink or an ice cream along the route, and pick up the game again later.
Do we need to book a time, and can our group play together?
There is no set start time and no guide, so you begin whenever you like. One ticket covers your whole group, so friends or family can walk the route together and solve the mystery of the missing shamrock as a team.
Is it outdoors, and what if it rains?
The game is played outdoors on the streets of downtown Naperville, walking between stops over about 2.1 km. Dress for the weather, and if rain sets in you can pause and finish the mystery on another day.
