Is this an escape room in London, Ontario?
It is an outdoor escape-room-style game played on your phone. Instead of a locked room, you walk between real places in London, Ontario, follow clues to find each new location and crack puzzles to outsmart the witch, in a story inspired by the original Oz novel from 1900.
Is it a good escape room for kids?
Families with kids and teens do play it together. The puzzles are solved using what is in front of you at each stop, and there are original Oz-themed songs in the app. It suits children old enough to help read clues and happy to walk about 2 km over roughly 90 minutes.
Where does it start and how long does it take?
You start at Covent Garden Market and finish back there after 12 stops, passing places such as the London Public Library, the Dominion Public Building and Metropolitan United Church. The route is about 2 km and takes around 90 minutes, and you can pause and continue later.
Can we play as a group, and do we need to book a time slot?
Yes. One ticket covers your whole group, up to the number of devices stated, so friends can work on the puzzles together. There is no booking slot: start whenever suits you, or play solo and compete on the leaderboard instead.
