What is the art thief quest about?
An art thief is loose in Sydney, and you play the detective. The thief leaves clues on street art and public artworks around the city, and you solve them on your phone to outsmart the thief. Along the way you see some of Sydney's most distinctive street art.
Where does the street art walk start and finish?
It starts at the Commissioner's Steps at Circular Quay and finishes at Novotel Sydney Darling Square. It is not a loop. The route runs via Campbell's Cove, Dawes Point, the Walsh Bay piers, Barangaroo, King Street Wharf, Cockle Bay Wharf and Darling Harbour.
How long does it take and how far is the walk?
Most players take nearly three hours, including walking and solving the puzzles. The route covers about 5 km along the harbour. You can pause at any point and continue later, so a coffee stop or a break at Barangaroo or Darling Harbour is easy to fit in.
Can we play as a group?
Yes. One ticket covers the whole group playing together on a phone, so friends can work through the clues as a team. There is no group to join and no guide, and no attraction tickets are needed for any stop on the route.
Do we need to book a time slot?
No. The quest is self-guided, so you can start any time that suits you from the Commissioner's Steps at Circular Quay. The app leads you from stop to stop, and you can pause and pick up where you left off later.
