Is this a good way to tour Kreuzberg on your own?
Yes. The app leads you through 12 stops in Kreuzberg, including St. Thomas Church, Kunstraum Bethanien, SO36, the Landwehr Canal at Paul-Lincke-Ufer, Admiralbrücke, the Fichtebunker, Marheineke Markthalle and Mehringdamm. It tells the story of each place and sets a puzzle in what is in front of you. No guide is needed.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at St. Thomas Church and finishes at Viktoriapark and Cascades, so it does not end where it began. The route covers about 4.9 km on foot through Kreuzberg, passing the canal, the Fichtebunker, Kirche am Südstern and Marheineke Markthalle on the way.
How long does it take, and can we pause?
Most players take close to three hours, walking and puzzles included. You can pause at any point, stop for a coffee or a look around the market hall, and continue later from where you left off. It is best played during the day.
Is it suitable for kids, and can we play as a group?
It is recommended for families, and school-age children who enjoy mysteries and can manage around 5 km of walking tend to do best. One ticket covers the whole group playing together on the route, so families or friends can solve the clues side by side.
Do we need to book a start time?
No. There is no group to join and no guide to meet, so you can start whenever you like at St. Thomas Church. Daylight hours are the best time to play, since the clues are found in the streets, parks and along the canal.
