There is no live guide. It is a self-guided ghost walk through Lincoln Park, played on your phone. The app leads you between ten stops, tells the dark history of each one and sets a puzzle at the spot. You start whenever you like and can pause and continue later.
Where does the Lincoln Park ghost walk start and finish?
It starts at the Chicago History Museum and finishes at the Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool, so it does not end where it began. Along the way you pass the Standing Lincoln Monument, the Couch Tomb, the Grant Monument, South Pond, Carlson Cottage, the Hans Christian Andersen Statue, the zoo and the Conservatory.
How long does it take?
Most players take about an hour and a half, walking and puzzles included, over roughly 2.7 km. Because you can pause and pick it up again later, there is no pressure to finish in one go.
Can we do it tonight without booking a time?
Yes. There is no set start time and no group to join, so you can begin whenever suits you. It plays best at night, so bring a charged phone, since you may need its flashlight to spot clues. The route stays outside; you do not enter the places on it.
